THE OBX

When Time Flew By....

The days in Corolla went by fast. I thought I had all the time in the world and it just blinked by. 

We had time for some fun and for spending time together with each other. 

Seems there is a Wings Store on every block of the OBX. Seriously, I saw one place where they had two Wings Stores on opposite sides of the street facing each other. Couldn't figure out the attraction. Prices were high and you can only buy so much crap-o-la and T-Shirts. Seriously!!

                 

Everyone was pretty tolerant of the mess I made of breakfast. Gotta read the doggone recipe a little bit closer. Thanks for being nice, ya'll. Chris and I are gonna try it again this weekend.

                 

I enjoyed the times around the table.

                 

The kids enjoyed everything.

                        

One day, Matt, TomBon, Jeff and Taylor and I went to see Kitty Hawk.

                

I got a real kick out of being there, right at the spot where aviation was born. Amazing guys, those Wright Brothers.

                    

 That's Orville in the plane and Wilbur on the side watching. Wilbur actually took the first flight but it bombed out and so, each taking the controls in turn, it was Orville, on the second attempt, that made history. Wilbur did fly it further that day but it's Orville who won First Place.

                

Ahead is Kill Devil's Hill where the Wrights launched a number of their glider flights.

                

It was exciting to be at that spot where history was made and the world changed forever.
