This is Tuesday - 9/23/14

Or - If this is Tuesday, it must be laundry...

That's right. Tuesday is for laundry. Every stinkin' Tuesday. Every doggone Tuesday.

And here is our laundromat.

Ain't it a pip.

Every Tuesday here is where we end up. Then, when we leave, we're $10+ lighter but our clothes are cleaner...hopefully.

And it is...always...so...much...fun!!!

Unfortunately, these pictures make the place look a lot better than it really is. Although, as far as  laundromats go, this one ain't all that bad. The TV there works. It is kept clean.

But it's still...a laundromat.

Ugh.

One of the nice features is the Somali market next door. Well, it's not that nice to look at but the mandazi and the sambusa are tasty. Today I got the fish and the meat sambusa...living dangerously. BTW, the mandazi is the round one and the triangular ones are sambusa.

I like the meat one but I've decided that the fish one is, while palatable, not necessarily savory.

Y'see, we get there at 0800 so we get right in as the laundromat opens and get started so we can get the heck out as soon as possible. It's real important for us to get out of there as soon as possible.

There's a Russian woman that opens up the laundromat and then quickly retreats to her little office to not reappear again unless someone needs her and knocks on her door.

She is very quick to the office.

Mmmmmmmm, good!!

While I was waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the laundry to get done I wandered out for a short walk in the cool, first day of Autumn, weather. And it was cool this morning and just a wee bit humid.

Autumn is in the air!!

I walked down the street a bit and there is an island between two streets and on this island were these flowers. I mean, people drive by and, on occasion, walk by and here are these flowers that nobody really sees.

And they're pretty nice.

Look at the blue and white rods!! Look at the neon whiteness in the center...that's cool!!

You can see the dew on these flowers. This whole bunch here is smaller than a quarter. In width. Pretty small.

Then these two. The one on the right looks sorta sinister, doesn't it.

The Hummingbird Nest plant. Don't know the name but Carol thinks it could be a hummingbird's nest as small as it is and the way it cups when it dries up and dies.

Another super-small flower...or weed, I don't know. Like the other one, the bunch on the right is about the size of a quarter...almost.

Just an interesting composition.

And these.

I really like the swirly flower at the bottom. It's still early and it hasn't quite woken up yet.

Here's the back of the laundromat. The front sits on MLK. Most of the cars you see here are for the Somali restaurant. The guys come in, always guys, never gals, and have their morning coffee and mandazi and shoot the breeze while they watch Somali TV on cable.

Here comes the Link. Pulling into the Othello Station.

I have no explanation for this. I don't remember taking it. I guess it was an accidental shot of the sky. I have these 'accidents' quite often but they rarely look like something I'd be interested in keeping.

Except, maybe, this one.

Laundromat Selfie!!

We're just about done. Clothes washed and folded...now to the Mini!!

When there is a movie we're interested in seeing, it's always on Tuesdays.

Movie Tuesday.

It's the day the Regal chain gives BIG discounts on popcorn. Really helps out my wallet.

So there we were at the movies and I had to chastise James, the kid behind the counter, several times vis-a-vis his service. However, he was good-natured about it and accepted my timely and spot-on criticism without argument. As he should.

We went to see When the Game Stands Tall. It was, after a slow and confusing start, a good movie with a lot of positive values. A pretty amazing story in real life and even more amazing that Hollywood thought enough of it to bring it to the Big Screen.

It won't dazzle you with special effects nor cause you to wince from graphic bloodbaths. It will, however, make you feel good and entertain you with some solid acting and an inspiring story.

As for James, I warned him that if he didn't get his act together he'd find himself publicly abused on my blog.

Here it is, James.

Don't let it happen again!!

Let's recap this Tuesday real quick, shall we?

First off, the laundry. Tres Interessant, eh?

Then it was off to the movies con palomitas y una coca-cola. Mmmmmmm...

And the flowers. Always a treat. So you can imagine my pleasure at seeing this beauty in a flower pot by one of the stores at The Landing.

Ziemlich beeindruckend, oder?

Yeah, I thought so, too!!

Walking back to the Mini, we spotted the Seahawk Crazy Mucho Burrito!!

Hahahaha,

The Legion of Boom!!

Keep Calm and Beast On!!

This whole town is Seahawk Crazy!!

It's everywhere!!

And then this. I haven't seen one incorporate the city skyline into the Seahawk logo.

Pretty cool.

   Gooooo, Seahawks!!

Reflected Window Selfie!!

Hahaha, you didn't think we could see a window and pass it up now, did you?

Silly you!!

Last year we caught the autumn colors at Coulon Park and they were impressive.

We've been waiting for Autumn to get here so we can do it all again. So we've been haunting the Park every couple days just to see what's happening, leaf-changing color-wise, that is.

It's starting!!!

There are several there that are beginning to change but it was drizzling, there weren't that many and, honestly, I wasn't ready to go roaming around in the...drizzle.

Not yet, anyway. It's been a long, hot, dry summer and I need some time to get back in the mood for rain.

But you can see there is a lot of promise there.

A Tree Grows In Coulon.

We were in the mood for a drive so we headed south to our favorite gas station.

The guys that run this do just that...and nothing more. No maintenance, no other goods for sale, no repairs. Nothing.

Ah, there's the Mini...getting fed.

Feed me, Seymour!!

And now you can see why it's my favorite gas station.

In spite of Barry, the price of gas has been going down for a while, now.

Keep going, Baby!!

Course, at Shell or 76 it's like $3.85+. Arco had it for $3.47.

Love it!!

From here we stopped at a store for some windows shopping and Carol found another Bird Book on Wetland Birds of the Northwest. Hah!! Right up our alley. We live in the Northwest and there are lakes and other big bodies of water all over the place!!

There's our Tuesday.

I know, slow down, right!?!

Not us, Man!! It's full speed ahead and damn the consequences when you live life in the Fast Lane!!!

And this Tuesday is why life is good. It really is.

    Hooah!!
